January 2009
2008 was a banner year for many and a challenging year for others.
Nonetheless, we are all truly grateful to God for bringing us through. If you can read this newsletter you should praise the Lord. When I think of everything that happened last year I take it in strides. Like the Apostle Paul, *I have learned to be content no matter the circumstances.* If we allow the ups and downs of life determine what we do for God our impact in ministry will be minimal.

We returned on September 1 from attending the East Central Africa Camporee in Mwanza, Tanzania. First, I want to thank the 15 awesome pathfinder leaders who accompanied us. Their impact via the honor classes they taught and training they provided is unmatched. Over 7000 pathfinders attended the 10 day camporee.

I AM A GRAND PA!!!!!!! On Wednesday April 16, 2008 at 12:27 a.m. our daughter Raquel and her husband William gave birth to our first grand-daughter. Her name is Elyse Stefani Jayla Mack. She weighed in at 6 lbs 10 oz. She measures 19 inches (a good sign that she will be taller than her dad, lol).

2007 will go down in Adventist history as an awesome year for youth ministries. Not only did we just celebrate 100 years of successful youth ministries, but from the evangelism reports, the Just Claim It Prayer Conference, the hundreds of youth, pathfinders, adventures, young adults, and camp events, indeed thousands accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord.
